Overview
The Rotronic HC2A-AW is a water activity measurement head built around the Rotronic Hygromer WA-1 sensor, for high-accuracy determination of equilibrium humidity or water activity in hygroscopic products. It's built from robust aluminum and stainless steel, with an "AW Quick" mode for fast results and a stainless steel wire mesh filter for sample protection.
Working Principle
The Hygromer WA-1 capacitive sensor, paired with a PT100 RTD, measures the equilibrium relative humidity of the headspace above a sample, converting the reading to water activity (0-1 aw). The HC2A-AW variant connects via HC2 connector to HygroLab indicators; the HC2A-AW-USB variant connects directly to a PC via USB for HygroSoft-based data acquisition.
