Overview

The OptiPEAK TDL600 is a Tuneable Diode Laser Analyzer employing the latest laser absorption spectroscopy techniques for automatic online moisture measurement in natural gas and biomethane, down to a 1 ppmV operating range. Its D-MET system is factory-ready for varying gas compositions — such as after stream blending or shale gas/biomethane injection into a network — and the non-contact optical technology requires minimal maintenance even in demanding applications like changing methane concentrations or sour gas. It is fully hazardous-area certified and suitable for natural gas containing up to 20% hydrogen with no modification.

Working Principle

A tuneable diode laser is passed through the sample gas and its absorption at a specific wavelength is measured, providing a direct, non-contact optical measurement of moisture content that is largely unaffected by changing background gas composition — including sour gas and varying methane concentrations. Integrated sample handling and 40 years of Michell Instruments moisture-measurement expertise are built into the design to minimize drift and maintenance.
