Overview

The Condumax II provides continuous, automatic on-line measurement of hydrocarbon dew point in natural gas using the patented "Dark Spot" direct chilled-mirror technique, delivering objective, highly repeatable results with 0.5°C accuracy. An optional Ceramic Metal-Oxide Moisture Sensor adds simultaneous water dew-point measurement. Housed in a compact explosion-proof enclosure, it is suitable for natural gas containing up to 20% hydrogen with no modification, and both indoor and outdoor sampling systems are available as standard for gas up to 138 barg.

Working Principle

A thermo-electrically cooled mirror surface is continuously monitored by an optical sensor; as the mirror is cooled, hydrocarbon condensation forms a detectable "dark spot" at the exact dew-point temperature, which the self-cleaning system captures with high repeatability. The optional ceramic metal-oxide sensor independently measures water dew point in parallel, and both readings are output via Modbus RTU for integration with plant control and custody-transfer systems.

Benefits

  • Objective chilled-mirror measurement removes subjectivity of manual dew-point testing
  • Self-cleaning design reduces maintenance and false readings from mirror contamination
  • Hydrogen-blend compatibility future-proofs installations for evolving gas networks
  • Modbus integration supports custody-transfer and pipeline monitoring systems directly
