Overview
The EL-SMS-2G-TP+ is a battery-powered temperature alert that sends SMS text notifications to pre-programmed mobile phone numbers whenever monitored temperature exceeds an upper or lower limit. It also sends periodic summary messages confirming normal operation, including minimum, maximum and average temperature since the last summary. Configuration is done via the free EasyLog SMS App (Android/iOS), which sends a setup SMS to the device. A micro SIM card (purchased separately) is required to register the unit onto a 2G GSM network, making it ideal for sites without reliable Wi-Fi coverage.
Working Principle
A supplied high-accuracy Type A thermistor probe measures temperature and reports to the unit, which compares readings against user-configured high/low alarm thresholds. On an alarm condition, the device sends an SMS notification via its onboard quad-band 2G GSM modem to up to three configured contacts; it also sends scheduled summary SMS messages (daily, weekly or monthly) reporting min/max/average readings since the previous summary.
