Overview
The FGD4 series are cost-effective gas detectors for use in non-hazardous (safe) areas. They operate on an 8–24 V DC supply with a 4–20 mA two-wire output for connection to a control panel; the CO2 version uses infrared sensing and requires an additional power connection (3-wire).
Working Principle
A plug-in electrochemical or infrared sensor head measures the target gas and converts the reading into a proportional 4–20 mA signal on the two-wire current loop. The carbon dioxide variant uses non-dispersive infrared (NDIR) sensing and requires an additional third connection to power the infrared sensor.
