Overview
The EL-USB-4 is a standalone data logger that stores more than 32,000 readings over a 4-20mA d.c. measurement range, making it well suited to trend-recording process current loop signals from transmitters and controllers. The logger is supplied with a cap featuring two screw terminals and measurement leads terminating in crocodile clips for quick connection to the monitored circuit. Data is retrieved by plugging the unit into a PC USB port and using the free EasyLog software, where readings can be graphed, printed and exported for analysis.
Working Principle
Two screw-terminal inputs connect directly into a 4-20mA current loop. The logger samples the loop current at a user-selectable interval and stores each reading with a timestamp to onboard memory, supporting both immediate and delayed logging starts so recording can be scheduled to begin at a specific time.
