Handheld ultrasonic transmitter/receiver pair for pinpointing air and gas leaks.

ModelHHLT-1
SKUHHLT-1
CategoryGas Detection

Key Features

  • 20 kHz to 100 kHz ultrasonic detection range
  • Matched transmitter + receiver kit
  • Earphone and LED indication
  • 9V alkaline battery powered
  • Compact, portable handheld design
  • Economical, single-variant kit

Overview

The Omega HHLT-1 is an economical handheld ultrasonic leak detector for locating air and gas leaks by ear, using a matched transmitter/receiver pair operating in the 20-100 kHz ultrasonic range. It's a portable, single-model kit built for quick field leak identification rather than continuous fixed monitoring.

Working Principle

A battery-powered transmitter emits an ultrasonic signal at the suspected leak point; the handheld receiver detects the RF signal (36-44 kHz) escaping through the leak and converts it to an audible tone via earphone and LED indication, letting the technician pinpoint the exact leak location by ear.

Benefits

  • Simple, low-cost way to pinpoint air/gas leaks by ear
  • No consumables or calibration gas required
  • Portable kit suited to spot-checks across a facility
