Overview
The QED SEM5000 is a field-proven portable methane detector purpose-built for landfill surface emissions monitoring. Using laser-based Tunable Diode Absorption Spectroscopy (TDLAS), it delivers fast, precise readings with no cross-gas contamination, while integrated GPS, Bluetooth and SEMSoft reporting software simplify leak documentation and compliance reporting.
Working Principle
A tunable diode laser measures methane absorption directly, giving zero cross-sensitivity to other gases during walkover surveys. Built-in audio/LED alarms flag elevated concentrations in real time, and daily field calibration supports Method 21 (sections 7.0, 8.0) compliance.
