Overview
The QED Metrex is a compact, lightweight gas survey detector built for first-responder technicians handling suspected gas leaks, bar-hole gas measurement, purged gas lines, enclosed-space monitoring, and natural gas distribution network leak detection. The latest model is up to 50% lighter and smaller than its predecessor, with proprietary sensing and detection built on QED's Geotech instrumentation heritage.
Working Principle
The instrument detects and measures gas concentrations from 0 to 10,000 ppm without requiring heavy fuel-gas calibration cylinders in the field, unlike traditional flame-ionization detectors. ATEX-integrated GPS and Bluetooth capture and datalog surveyed readings directly to QED's PROSoft compliance reporting software, with USB transfer also available.
